6 Outfits You Need for Transitioning to Spring

January 31, 2018 16 Comments

You really got us good, Mother Nature. Last week you graced us with your sunshine and unseasonably warm temps in or near the 50’s.

You had us hopeful. You reminded us of spring.

Then you laughed in our faces and literally blew cold air at us. Eleven degree this weekend? Really? What kind of sick joke is that?

(Sigh).

But there is an end in sight. Before we know it, the last snow will fall, and the days will start to get slightly longer. Spring is on the horizon, and with the change in season, also comes a change in wardrobe.

I’ve put together six of my new favorite outfits that are perfect for this in-between time; where it’s still technically winter but we know that spring is coming. These pieces are amazing whichever way the weather decides to go, and the styles can be played up for cold temps or down for when things start to get warmer.

There’s something so effortless about a good kimono, and this olive with the lace detailing is absolutely gorgeous. You can dress it up, or make it totally casual, and either way you’re going to have people asking where it’s from. The one pictured here I paired with Black Label Denim and a gray flowing tank from Harper & Sky (the denim and kimono are arriving within the next week or so), Kessie Drop Earrings from Stella & Dot, my favorite LV bag, and my favorite OTK Black Boots.

I love adding a pop of color with my neutrals, and these Kessie Earrings are seriously so adorable. I have an olive off shoulder romper that I can’t wait to bust out for summer that I know these will pair beautifully with!

You can find the rest of this particular outfit’s details below:

I also really love when things just become bright and airy the closer we get to spring. Soft colors, hints of pastels, florals. Peep toed shoes. All of the above just make my heart happy, and this next outfit might just be my favorite for the upcoming season.

This soft cream sweater {coming soon} to Harper & Sky has the daintiest stitching detail along the side hems, and the softest slight bell sleeves with a slit at the wrist. Tucked into our new Moto Jeans and Peep Toed Shoes, it’s the perfect outfit for shopping or grabbing brunch with the girls.

I’m loving these Rory Floral Drop Earrings, and I’m seriously planning so many outfits around what matches them. They’re big enough to make a statement, but still flirty enough that they’re not too much – if that makes sense. There is also a matching necklace available that is definitely on my wish-list, and I’m willing to bet you that I order it soon!

I’m also crazy about a good bracelet stack, and these are four of my current favorite bracelets! The colors make it so easy to pair with so many different metals and colors, and I love the way the whites, blush, and golds play off one another with the chevron.

I think we’ve already established that I’m crazy and obsessed over anything that involves the color olive, and this fun elbow-cut-out shirt is no exception. The Aspen Olive Top from Harper & Sky (available now) is such a fun, casual top that can be dressed up a little, or can be thrown on with your favorite workout pants and sneakers. I paired mine with essentially the same outfit as above, and threw on a statement necklace to glam things up a bit.

The York Necklace is so fun because it’s actually a 3 in 1, meaning you can wear one necklace three different ways. Styled as is {shown above}, or you can separate both chains to wear just the pendant, or just the tortoise collar (and let it be known, I am LOVING the tortoise trend right now).

Absolutely cannot wait for these moto jeans to be released! I guarantee you will LOVE them!

I never really have followed the rule that white pants can only be worn between Memorial Day and Labor Day, and actually, some of my favorite fall/winter outfits involve white denim and boots. But, I know the rest of the world doesn’t necessarily agree with me – SO, for those of you who have been anxiously waiting to bust out your white jeans.. we’re almost there! I love the combination of this gray knit sweater with the white jeans and the soft ankle booties. It’s definitely appropriate for that spring-feeling in the air, but cozy enough to keep you warm while it’s still pretty cold.

{This Gray Knit Sweater will be available soon from Harper & Sky!}

I absolutely adore a fringe chandelier earring, and this Aiyana Fringe Chandelier is no exception. It has a gorgeous combination of golds, blues, greens, and grays, and I love that you can dress it up, or wear it with a chunky sweater and some jeans.

Shop some of my favorite white jeans below:

One of the hottest trends right now is the short corduroy skirt, and this button up one from Harper & Sky takes the cake. The color is perfect for spring or fall, and I love that you can throw on your favorite boots and a statement necklace and you look like you walked right out of a magazine. (It also doesn’t hurt when the wind blows your hair just right to give you the perfect Beyonce moment).

{Shirt and Skirt coming soon to Harper & Sky}

I’ve had my eye on this Layered Feather Necklace for quite some time, and I knew once I ordered in those skirts for Harper & Sky that I needed this in my life. I’ve always been a fan of feathers and the boho-look in general, and this necklace is seriously gorgeous.

Last but not least.

I love a good tailored shirt. There’s something so sophisticated and classy about a woman in a tailored shirt, but I also love the combination of throwing something so classy on with something so distressed, and that’s why this next outfit is probably one that you will see me wear time and time again.

I love tucking in part of the shirt and leaving the rest hanging, because it helps with the overall casual tone that I was going for. Paired with the distressed denim and alligator black heels {all coming soon to Harper & Sky}.

I love the Sefina Drop Earrings because they’re so unusual, but so feminine, and you can separate the white flower from the black beaded part and wear as posts if you wanted to. More bang for your buck, and both looks are so cute.

I love the fringe detailing in this Eloise Clutch,  and the black and blush color combination is absolutely adorable.

Being a busy business owner, wife, and mom – let’s be honest. I don’t always have a lot of time to get ready, so I like to go for looks that are simple, but give the impression that I didn’t just throw them together. The six outfits above are perfect for doing just that; making you look put together when secretly, you may be running around like a crazy person {much like me} almost every day of your life!

Since the majority of the outfits above are “Coming Soon” (literally over the next two weeks), there are a couple ways you can stay in the know to make sure you don’t miss out.

A huge thank you to Ashley Hempel Photography for the amazing photos!

    I love all of these outfits, but I *really* love the striped shirt. I’ve just gotten into wearing stripes and I love how easily they work into an outfit!

    Great post! x
