If you’re like the majority of women out there, you are currently stuck in a makeup rut. You find yourself purchasing new makeup, but it sits untouched in the bottom of your makeup bag. You walk the aisles of Sephora and you’re feeling completely overwhelmed by the 100 different lipstick shades wondering “WHAT COLOR WOULD LOOK BEST ON ME!?” “WHAT IS AN UNDERTONE?!” The anxiety begins to rise, and you leave before asking the 19-year-old who is working; who, by the way, has such perfect eyebrows she looks like a unicorn tweezed them with diamond encrusted tweezers.
HAVE NO FEAR; I am here for you.
If you are feeling lost and trapped in the makeup purgatory; you will most likely find this post sent from the heavens above. I want to share with you my go to signature summer look, that will take you NO more than 15 minutes to complete, and will leave you with skin better than the inside of a kitten’s ear. BTW: have you ever felt the inside of a kitten’s ear? It’s soft. Like, really soft. Like, incredibly soft.
The idea is to get products that you can use in multiple ways, and quick and simple tools that will get you out of your house with a fresh face in minutes!
To complete your complexion, look for a foundation with a primer built right in! Try Tarte’s BB Tinted Primer. This BB cream not only has a velvety primer built right in, but it will leave you with a flawless face for 12 hours while protecting you with SPF 30. This also has a matte finish, which will beat the heat. For quick and easy application, try applying it with a damp beauty blender. Both Items can be found at Sephora.

The next on my double beauty must-haves is Benefit’s Bene Tint. This wonderful product is a cheek & lip tint. A little dab goes a long way, so go ahead add a little to your ring finger and dab on the apples of your cheeks for a beautiful cheeky glow!

Also from Benefit, I recommend the High Beam Liquid Face Highlighter. You can dab a little on the highpoint of your face, and on your eyelids! Both products can be found at Sephora or Ulta.

Now that we have perfected your complexion, let’s talk about brows. Now, I know this can be the most intimidating part of it all, right? Fear no more. Before you start to fret about the shape of your brows, visit your favorite esthetician. Leave the shaping to the professionals! Then while you’re out grab a tinted brow gel. I truly love Tarte’s Tinted Brow Gel. The tiny little spoolie allows for optimum precision. It’s available in four shades, and the easiest brow application on the planet! Found at Ulta and Sephora.

To make your eyes pop, leave your black eyeliner in that makeup bag. That’s right, choose a color that complements your eye color. So for brown eyes, try a navy blue or a purple liner. For blue eyes, try a pink, champagne, or gold-colored liner. For green eyes, pick up a violet, copper or red liner. And I didn’t forget about you lucky hazel-eye- havers. For you, I suggest picking up whichever color you want to enhance. If you want to enhance the green, pick up one of the recommendations for green eyes, and same goes for if you would like to enhance the brown color. I absolutely love Urban Decay’s 24/7 Gel Liner Pencil. These pencils truly glide on, smooth like butter, and have the staying power of a liquid. Available at Ulta or Sephora.

I don’t suggest lining your entire rim of your eye. If you’re going to line the top & bottom, smudge the bottom out to make it look more soft and sultry. Finish off with your favorite mascara and you’re ready to go! Some of my favorites are Lancome Grandoise, Dior Show Blackout, and Tarte Tartist Lash Paint. All available at Ulta or Sephora.

To complete your look, choose a bright lip. Regardless of your age or profession, you too can rock a bright lip. There are so many different bright shades to choose from, just choose one within your comfort zone. Back away from the nudes. I know you probably feel super comfortable in a nude tone, or a clear gloss. Who doesn’t? But make a statement this summer!
Some of my favorite go-to summer shades are Urban Decay Unicorn, Urban Decay Wrong Number and Urban Decay EZ. These are super creamy, easy to apply and have some fantastic staying power. Add your favorite gloss over top and you’re almost ready to roll.

To keep your look looking fresh – all – day – long, don’t forget your setting spray!!! Pick up an Urban Decay All Nighter Spray and add a few mists all over your face.
