Sweet Treats Made Healthy

It’s no secret to anyone who knows me, or passes me in a grocery store or bakery, that I have a gigantic sweet tooth. I never used to be this way until I got pregnant. My cravings consisted of Combos, and anything sweet. All. The. Time. I thought maybe that would go away with the birth of my son, but if anything, it has worsened. I literally want cupcakes, cookies, ice cream, and candy all day every day.

Because of this debilitating addiction, I have had to learn to tone down the sweets I eat and find healthier versions. Don’t get confused; I absolutely still indulge every now and then, however, doing so on a daily basis has serious side effects.

I wanted to share one of my favorite healthy sweet treats with you. You may have seen this before on my Instagram page TashLivesWell. Since the weather is warming up and ice cream is on the brain, this is a good alternative. Enjoy!

Fruity Acai Bowl

1 package frozen Acai berry super fruit (I used Sambazon)

1/3 cup frozen mangos

1/2 banana

A splash of almond milk

Blend above ingredients together until you reach a desired consistency. For a more creamy texture, add more milk and/or more of your banana.

Top with any of your favorite healthy toppings! I added the other half of my banana, 1/4 cup blueberries, 1/4 cup strawberries, and a little bit of Kind granola with chia clusters.
